Golf in St. Kitts

If you can't bear to leave your golf clubs at home during your St. Kitts and Nevis vacation, you're in luck.  There are three golf courses on the islands, two of which are professional grade, and all of them remain uncrowded.

The Courses

Nevis' 18-hole golf course is on the property of the Four Seasons Caribbean Golf Resort in Charleston.  This course is a design by Robert Trent Jones Jr., that originally opened in 1991, but was updated in 2006 by architect Doug Carrick.  The course winds through the foothills of Mt. Nevis, and is surrounded by coconut groves.  There are complimentary golf clinics each week, as well as a conditioning program that is available for a fee.  You can contact the Four Seasons Caribbean Golf Resort at 869-469-1111.

The professional caliber golf course in St. Kitts is the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course in Frigate Bay.  The course is a 71-par 18-hole course on 125 acres that offer views of both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.  There are 80 bunkers and 10 water hazzards on this course, which was refurbished by architect Thomas McBroom in 2007.  Golf instruction is available, as is a club house and pro shop.You can contact the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course at 866-STK-GOLF.

The final course in St. Kitts and Nevis is the Cat Ghaut Chip 'n Put, a nine-hole course on Nevis.  Situated on 14 acres in Newcastle, the Chip 'n Put is a small, laid back course that is perfect for families and beginners.  The scenery is outstanding, as the course is surrounded by tropical plants and provides a breathtaking view of Mt.
